Must-Do

Jost Van Dyke

White Bay & Great Harbour · USVI border island

One of the smallest inhabited islands in the BVI, Jost punches well above its weight. White Bay is arguably the most beautiful beach in the entire archipelago — powdery white sand, turquoise water, and the legendary Soggy Dollar Bar right on the beach.

Soggy Dollar Bar — home of the original Painkiller
White Bay — swim-in beach bar, no dock needed
Foxy's in Great Harbour — local legend, live music nightly
Perfect for an afternoon — or two nights if you can

First Night Favourite

The Bight, Norman Island

Norman Island · Southern BVI

Said to be the inspiration for Treasure Island, Norman is protected, beautiful, and just a short sail from Road Town — making it the perfect first night. The Bight is a calm, well-protected bay with mooring balls and the famous floating restaurant.

The Caves — incredible snorkeling through sea caverns
William Thornton floating restaurant (aka Willy T)
Protected anchorage — great for first nights

Cane Garden Bay Tortola BVI beach with catamarans anchored in turquoise water
Classic BVI

Cane Garden Bay

Tortola · North Shore

A long crescent of palm-fringed beach on Tortola's sheltered north shore. Cane Garden Bay has just the right mix of beauty and buzz — great beach bars, local restaurants, and enough space that it never feels crowded.

Myett's Garden & Grill — outdoor bar right on the sand
Long sandy beach — ideal for paddleboarding
Callwood Rum Distillery — oldest in the BVI
Clear, calm water in the bay

Anegada BVI white sand beach with turquoise Caribbean water
The Overnight Adventure

Anegada

Anegada · Northernmost BVI · 20-mile sail

Anegada is unlike anywhere else in the BVI. Completely flat — barely 8 feet above sea level — surrounded by one of the largest barrier reefs in the Caribbean. Pink flamingos wander near the salt ponds. Lobster is caught daily and grilled on the beach that night.

Fresh lobster dinner on the beach — book in the morning
Loblolly Bay — one of the world's best snorkeling beaches
Wild flamingos at the salt pond
Worth the overnight — day trip is never enough

05
The Baths Virgin Gorda BVI granite boulders with turquoise water and sailboats
Iconic BVI

The Baths, Virgin Gorda

Virgin Gorda · Eastern BVI

A UNESCO-worthy natural wonder — house-sized granite boulders tumbled along the beach forming grottos, tidal pools, and hidden passages. The Baths is BVI's most photographed spot and absolutely worth the anchorage mooring fee. Go early to beat the day boats.

The Baths National Park — hike through the boulder grottos
Devil's Bay — secluded beach at the end of the trail
The Crawl — natural pools perfect for swimming
Spring Bay nearby — quieter and equally beautiful

Bitter End Yacht Club North Sound Virgin Gorda BVI marina and beach
Sailor's Paradise

North Sound, Virgin Gorda

Virgin Gorda · Eastern BVI

A completely different world from The Baths — North Sound is a large, protected lagoon ringed by green hills and home to some of the BVI's best facilities. The iconic Bitter End Yacht Club anchors the eastern shore, while tiny Saba Rock sits in the middle of the sound.

Bitter End Yacht Club — dining, watersports, lively bar
Saba Rock — tiny island bar, legendary sunset spot
Eustatia Reef — excellent snorkeling on the north edge
Well-protected anchorage — great in most conditions

Local Favourite

Cooper Island & The Indians

Cooper Island & The Indians · Central BVI

Cooper Island is a gem that many first-timers skip. The eco-resort serves excellent food and the snorkeling is world-class. Nearby, The Indians — four dramatic rock pinnacles rising from the sea — have some of the most spectacular underwater scenery in the Caribbean.

The Indians — pinnacle snorkeling, colourful coral and fish
Cooper Island Beach Club — great rum bar, fresh fish
Manchioneel Bay — calm, protected mooring field
